The sale marks XPV’s sixth profitable exit in 24 months.

April 1, 2025 XPV Water Partners (“XPV”) is proud to announce that Goldman Sachs Alternatives, an alternative investments platform that is part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, has acquired Atlas-SSI, Inc. (“Atlas-SSI”).

Atlas-SSI designs, manufactures, and services customized screens, gates, and barriers that serve as the first line of defense for facilities that use water.

XPV acquired Atlas Manufacturing and Screening Systems International to create one of the largest full-service providers of industrial water intake systems in North America in 2018. Since that time, Atlas-SSI and XPV have worked together to strengthen the company’s portfolio of solutions and expand market reach through organic growth initiatives and several strategic acquisitions.

Today, the company is making significant contributions to building resilience, curbing plastic pollution, and protecting aquatic biodiversity across North America.

“Atlas-SSI has played a huge role in transforming the industry, helping industrial water users to not only protect their equipment and operations, but also to meet increasingly stringent standards and become leading corporate citizens,” said Khalil Maalouf, Investment Partner, XPV Water Partners.

He added: “Working with Atlas-SSI’s team has been a rewarding journey. We are delighted the company has joined Goldman Sachs Alternatives. There is tremendous opportunity for Atlas-SSI to build on its strong position in the market, and we look forward to the company’s continued success.”

“The company we’ve built with XPV’s team is in a fantastic position to grow with Goldman Sachs Alternatives,” said Paul Lewis, CEO, Atlas-SSI. “Our new partnership enables Atlas-SSI to accelerate our mission of delivering innovative water management solutions that protect critical infrastructure and ecosystems. With Goldman Sachs’ support, we’ll expand our capabilities, enhance our technology leadership, and continue to meet the critical and growing needs of our customers.”

The sale of Atlas-SSI marks XPV’s sixth profitable exit in the last 24 months. The firm’s momentum is the result of a unique approach to rapidly scaling water-related companies, including how XPV partners and aligns with existing owners and management teams. Bringing an unmatched depth of industry knowledge and experience, the XPV team has built a proven growth platform that leverages strategy, talent, sales, operations, and M&A expertise.
