Metron-Farnier Welcomes Tech Industry Leader Carolyn Parent as CEO

BOULDER, Colorado – February 20, 2024 – Metron-Farnier (“Metron”), a leading smart water data management system company, today announced that technology industry leader Carolyn Parent has joined the company as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Parent brings more than 25 years of global experience launching, scaling, leading, and transforming companies, from start-ups to Fortune 100 giants. She succeeds Matt Laird, the company’s founder, who will continue to serve on Metron’s Board of Directors.

As President and CEO of LiveSafe, a leading mobile risk intelligence solution for safety and security incident prevention, response, and communication, Parent achieved 10x ARR growth in four years, landed numerous Global 1000 customers, and secured a profitable M&A exit in 2020.  Previously, Parent headed Worldwide Sales at Deltek where she helped facilitate a successful IPO and has led accelerated growth in new markets for several industry leading companies.  A sought-after trailblazer, Parent has won numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Deloitte’s Fast 500, Washingtonian Magazine’s Washington “Tech Titans”, Women in Technology (WIT) Leadership Award, Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Tech 100 and she was tapped to serve as a national level judge of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award Program for several years.
